If you want to explore more of Indian food outside of the usual rotation, check out Moksha in Ft. Lauderdale 🇮🇳

And don’t get me wrong the classics are great but there’s a lot more to Indian food

Their menu stretches across regions from north to south India blending traditional techniques with modern presentation. Dishes like rich curries, seafood, Indo-Chinese plates and even some street food.

📍@mokshaftl (2823 E Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306) #adThis is my new favorite burger in Miami.

@coneyburger’s comeback has created a lot of buzz. Husband-and-wife duo Pedro & Vanessa wanted to bring ack classic burgers: thick, juicy, and handcrafted.

For me, a classic burger will always be the best burger you can get and Pedro has managed to create my new favorite one in Miami. With buns made from scratch, along with house-made patties, sauces, and even pickles, it’s hard not to appreciate the effort put into these burgers — even more so when you taste them. And I can’t forget the Champ burger which you may have seen several other videos online of others claiming it as the juiciest burger they’ve ever had. It’s fantastic too.

This is a family-run business that’s putting a lot of effort into their food and I think that’s reason enough to check them out and support.

📍@coneyburger (1306 N Miami Ave Suite 1 A, Miami, FL 33136)This family-run Chinese restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale has been open since 1966 — almost 60 years of history and recipes passed down through four generations. 🍜

Now, great-grandson Alex Kuk is carrying on the Wan’s legacy, keeping the tradition of Chinese-American comfort food alive while making more fresh, in-house dishes than ever before. From wok-fried favorites to sauces from scratch, everything’s cooked fresh to order — just like it’s been for decades.

📍@wans.fl (664 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304)NEW THAI RESTAURANT SOUTH FLORIDA ☀️🌴

Wynn Thai Street Food just opened last week and the owner Kae told me he wants to serve real Thai food here in South Florida. The kha moo palo is the must order. I didn’t get to try any of the noodles or curries but I’ll definitely will next time.

📍@wynnthaistreetfood (10139 W Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise, FL 33351)Zitz Sum comes from Chef Pablo Zitzmann and has won the Michelin Bib Gourmand 4 years in a row

My conversation with chef that day made me realize that a lot of chefs fall into a spectrum of being an artist or being a “suit.” Some want to create for the sake of creativity no matter the result. Some find what works and ride that wave forever. Neither good or bad, just something I’ve noticed throughout the many conversations I’ve had with chefs over the years

Pablo told me in the early days of Zitz Sum he started doing “Ramen Thursdays” to help with slow weekdays. Shortly after, a major food publication took notice and called his ramen “arguably the best in the city.” The next week, chef pulled the ramen off the menu. I laughed and told him it made me think of that Kanye West lyric “soon as they like you, make them unlike you cuz kissing people’s asses is so unlike you.” He assured me that mindset has worked out in the long run but not without it’s challenges

If you plan to visit Zitz Sums soon, just go for the tasting menu. You won’t be disappointed

📍@zitzsum (396 Alhambra Cir Suite 155, Coral Gables, FL 33134)There’s a new Peruvian restaurant in South Florida that comes from the same owners of @bravoperuviankitchen

It’s called Bravo Mar and it’s focused on seafood with dishes like arroz con mariscos, ceviche, parihuela, choros a la chalaca and a ton more

📍@bravomardeerfield (1965 NE 2nd St, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441)This South African couple never planned to open a restaurant 🇿🇦

Dutchy’s Gourmet Sausages is a South African market and restaurant offering groceries, meats, and hot food. Izak and Natasha started making biltong and droëwors at home as a result of missing South Africa and being unable to enjoy that food here in South Florida 🌴

I’ve been a fan of this place since I first visited in 2020 and think more folks should explore South African food. If you plan to visit, try the lamb bunny chow, mozambique style prawns, porkbelly lollipops, gatsby, peri peri chicken livers, and biltong snack platter 🔥

📍 @dutchyssausages (401 S State Rd 7, Plantation, FL 33317)He’s making rare 200 year old dumplings by hand every day

Edric Espinoza is the owner of Nour Thai Kitchen in Oakland Park, Florida making arguably the best Thai food in all of South Florida. One of his most unique foods on his menu are these chor muang - vibrant purple dumplings deep with flavors that require a lot of patience, effort, and care to make as well as he does. 🇹🇭

There are few places in the world still making these dumplings so if you’re a foodie looking for the next best food to eat, it’s a bucket list item

📍@nourthaikitchen (3554 NE 12th Ave, Oakland Park, FL 33334)This Puerto Rican chef opened his restaurant to honor his grandmother 🇵🇷

El Bayu de Wela Sara started at a farmers market here in Hollywood, Florida but quickly grew to their current location. Chef Iram is one of the good ones and previously worked as a chef in many of the luxury hotels here in South Florida. From chuleta can can to mofongo to pasteles, you can find your favorite Puerto Rican food here at the restaurant.

📍@elbayudewelasara (1917 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, FL 33020)This Indian chef bet on himself with his own restaurant

Ghee is my favorite Indian restaurant in Miami and opened in 2017. After many years in other kitchens, Chef Niven Patel opened Ghee himself with 17 credit cards. 8 years later, Patel has earned a following and recognition here in the local Miami community, including the Michelin Bib Gourmand award 4 years in a row.

If you plan to visit soon, I suggest their tasting menu as I think it’s great value and introduction to Chef Niven’s style.

#foodie #foodiesHe loves his wife’s Ethiopian cooking 🇪🇹

Awash is a family owned and operated restaurant and the only Ethiopian in all of Miami-Dade county. Husband and wife duo, Fouad and Eka Wassel, have been serving traditional Ethiopian food here since 2017.

I’ve been a big fan of them and their food since 2020 and can’t say enough good things about their food. If you plan to visit try their doro wot, kitfo, asa goulash, key sir, shiro and awaze tibs.
